DASHA SHKEL is an interdisciplinary artist exploring how we make sense of realities more complex than the systems we build to understand them. A persistent concern in her work is the moment when a system can no longer hold itself together, but does not yet know it.

Her practice moves across immersive audiovisual installations, interactive environments and sculpture. The medium follows the question. Never the other way around.

Her work has been presented internationally, including at TodaysArt Festival (The Hague), InScience Festival (Nijmegen) and the State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), with a solo exhibition at Gallery D.O.T. in Berlin.

 

Shkel works internationally as a curator across exhibitions, media art and large-scale cultural programmes, and has developed concepts for several museum projects.
